

Ernestine V. Lambert, age 69, passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 2, 2012. She was the beloved wife for 51 years of the late Leo Joseph Lambert, Jr. She was a homemaker, cook for the St. James Parish School Board and cosmetic saleswoman. She enjoyed her Tuesday card club games, Thursday night bingo and a member of the 3L’s Club. She loved bowling and was a member of a Bowling League, was fond of family vacations in Grand Isle and the family vacations.
She is survived by her five sons; Michael (Tessa), Mark (Edie), Milton "Bud" (Sharon), Melvin (Patrice), Myron (Paula) Lambert of New Roads and daughter, Linda Thibodeaux (Craig "Tiger). Two sisters; Margaret Volion and Rita Mesche and two brothers, Norman and Ricky Volion. Sixteen grandchildren; Hillary, Tyler, Hannah, Tanner, Ashley, Raelynn, Mason, Kelsi, Maggie, Reed, Rory, Mallory, Matthew Lambert, Jessica L. Harvey (David) of Covington, Jaci and Trey Harrison. Two step-grandchildren; Andree and Whitney Thibodeaux. Great-grandson, Ryder Lambert. Also survived by five step-grandchildren; Bailey, Keegan, Chandler, Bentley and Karson Thibodeaux. Two sister-in-laws; Grace Simmons (Jesse) and Gloria Carpenter (Fred). A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Franzine and Thomas Volion, Sr., and siblings; Thomas Volion, Jr., Albert Volion, Shirley Borne and Janet Perry. Niece Shelly Hebert and nephew Bobby Volion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 8:00 am until 11:30 am at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
