Pierre Emile Poche'

Pierre Emile Poché passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the age of 94 at Chateau St. James Rehab and Retirement in Lutcher, La. Born Nov. 12, 1918, he was a native of Belmont, La., a long-time resident of Union, La., and most recently, Gonzales, La.

Survived by his second wife Roberta Ott Poché; eight children,

Emile Poché, Jr. (wife Corky) of Gonzales, La., Nancy Poché Champton (late husband Milton, Jr.) of Houma, La., Linda Poché Vinsanau (husband Clem) of Metairie, La., Susan Poché Cash (husband Wayne) of Murrieta, Calif., Jerry Poché of Gonzales, La., Julie Poché Boudreaux (husband Bobby, Jr.) of Lutcher, La., Debra Poché Dennis of Gonzales, La., and Lisa Poché Calhoun (husband John) of Baton Rouge, La.; five step-children, Pamela Richardson (husband Bob), Donna Robinson (husband Rex), Susan LeBourgeois (husband Benji), Brett Rushing (wife Carla), and Amy Tullier (husband Leland); and 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Bula Roussel Poché; his parents, Jean Pierre Poché and Marie Martin Poché; and, 10 brothers and sisters, John Adolph Poché, Anita Waguespack, Lionel Poché, Inez Brignac, Edna Martin, Clifford Poché, Gladys Martin, Marcel Poché, Hortense Martin, and Doris Boudreaux.

He was a member of St. Michael Church Parish in Convent, La. where he served as a lector; he served on the St. James Parish School Board for many years; he was a well-known accomplished farmer; and, he spent his later years in his vegetable garden which he shared with all of us.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10:00AM till 12:15PM a funeral Mass will follow at 12:30PM.
