

Born October 28, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Don Fisher Wood and Eveline Johnson Wood. Alan was retired from Craddock & Terry Shoe Corp., as a cad cam manager, was a Product Manager with MicroDynamics of Dallas, TX, and was the owner & operator of Home Theater Installation. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church.
Chip was a diehard University of Alabama fan. He had a great love of music and was the manager and sax player for The Greater Experience rock band.
In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by two sons, Paul E. Wood and wife Kandis and, Mark A. Wood; one daughter, Sarah E. Wood; a sister, Wendy M. Wood of Concord, NC and a grandson, Chase T. Wood.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Casey Carden officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
