Born in Buckeye, WVa, She was a daughter of the late Henry William Holmes and Louverna Hammons Holmes. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, William Harrison Holmes of Forest and Carson Holmes of Concord; one sister, Roselda Spencer of Lynchburg and a special niece, Christina Akers of Lynchburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Virginia Memorial Park.
