Alva Lee Nance

Born November 3, 1943 in Newbern, NC, she was the daughter of Alva Smith Cocke of Madison Heights and the late Richard Miller Kennedy. She was retired from Southern Air and was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Nance is survived by four children, Michael E. Johnson and wife Becky of Blue Ridge, Barry A. Johnson of Thaxton, Jennifer N. Cain and husband Ron, and Jesse Lee Nance, both of Lynchburg; one brother, Wayne E. Cocke and wife Linda of Madison Heights; two grandchildren, Ashley Marie Endres and Betty Gail Barbour; one great-grandchild, Aiden Coyle and two nieces, Mandy Marie Cocke and Laurey Denton.

In following Mrs. Nance’s wishes, there will not be any services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Campbell County (Timberlake) Rescue Squad.
