Born September 1, 1937, in Morehead City, NC. She was the daughter of the late Myrtis and Theodore Barnes. She was also preceded in death by two children, Shawna Leija and George Equils.
Survivors include 8 children, Sharon O'Conner, of Colorado, Beverly Wilson, and Maria Shinke, of Ohio, Joyce Johnson, and Robert Norman, of Hurt, Debrah Kozelenko, of Altavista, Linda Sargent, of NC, and Virginia Apple, of Idaho, 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Joyce Johnson, 210 West Spencer Rd. in Hurt, VA 24563, tonight, Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Beaufort, NC.
