
Annie Katherine Thompson Fitzgerald, 73, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, September 08, 2012, at the Avante’ Nursing Home. She was the wife of Eddie Gleaso “Pete” Fitzgerald. Born October 10, 1938, in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Woodrow Thompson and the late Annie Katherine Cash Thompson.
Annie was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Annie is survived by three children, David Coles, Jr. of Hurt, Sheila Marie Davis of Lynchburg and Betty Coles Dalton of Hurt; two sisters, Norma Jean Mason of Lynchburg and Shirley Mae Huffman and her husband William of Madison Heights; one brother, Harvey Woodrow Thompson, Jr. of Lynchburg; four sisters-in-law, Betty Gowens and Betty Shifflett, both of Concord, Dorothy Bennette of Hurt and Ann Cash of Madison Heights; nine grandchildren, David John, Jason, Rebecca, Tess, Hunter, Daniel, Joseph, Lori and Greg; eleven great-grandchildren, Timmy, April, Daniel, Wayne, Micah, Hannah, Landon Patrick, Levi, Desaray and Noah; family friend, Fred Wayne Donavan of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Campbell and the Rev. Carlton Dunn, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, 6-8:30 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
