Obituary of Barbara Ann Wiesner
Barbara Ann Wiesner, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday March 11, 2023 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by her husband Dieter Wiesner. Born in Truro, Massachusetts, September 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Stanley McAnistan and Ernestine McAnistan. Barbara was an avid animal lover. Nicknamed ‘Snow White’ by family, she enjoyed feeding the many stray cats, birds and other wildlife in her yard. Barbara also loved her dog Bella, Elvis, holidays, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Laurie Grosvenor (Emery); her son Dieter Wiesner Jr. (Stephanie); five grandchildren, Lauren Rodriguez (Chris), Mandi Graham (Donnie), Joshua Wiesner (Monica), Chelsea Bateman (Chris), and Justin Wiesner; five great grandchildren, Jayden, Kaylee, Eleanor, Piper and Jovie; and three of her siblings Caroline Tasha, Margaret Sawyer, and Billy McAnistan. A memorial service for Barbara will be held Sunday March 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with visitation an hour prior to the service.
