

Born in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Joseph T. Watts and Lorna Johnson Watts. He was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry after over 40 years of service. Following his retirement he enjoyed working part-time at Brookville Auto Parts. He was an avid fan of UVA sports and attended Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Linda Wade and her husband A.K. and Karen Johnson all of Lynchburg, Nickie W. Gentry and her husband Glen of Forest and Ben Watts and his wife Tracy of Roanoke; two sisters, Mildred Gardner of Lynchburg and Ann Moon and her husband Bob of Evington; six grandchildren, Brandon Mays, Justin Johnson, Courtney Gentry, Caleigh Gentry, Matthew Watts and Emily Watts and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Dr. Jim Moon and the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
