

Bernice Dice Gordon, 98, of Forest, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Clarence Joseph Gordon. Born September 15, 1916, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late David Taxton Dice and the late Hassie Areheart Dice.
Bernice was a homemaker, and a member of Brookhill Wesleyan Church. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bernice was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas O. Gordon and Jay Wellington Gordon; and one granddaughter, Rhonda G. Gordon.
Bernice is survived by two children, Joyce G. McFadden and her husband Charles of Forest and Bonnie Gordon of Lynchburg; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Gordon of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Sherry T. Saunders, Kimberly T. Hall, Shann Gordon, Quinn Gordon and Heath Gordon, Wendy Sterne and Tammy Patil; eleven great grandchildren, Dakota Hall, Montana Hall, Arizona Hall, Indiana Hall, Madison Saunders, Parker Sterne, Madeline Sterne, Kendall Gordon, Spencer Gordon, Nathan Gordon and Jenna Gordon.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Horrell officiating.
Visitation will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
