Columbus Trent.
Born in Bedford County, October 19, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Escar Thomas Saunders and Julia Miller Saunders.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Trent and one daughter, Joyce Lewis.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Wolfe of Huntington, WVa, Drema Swader of San Diego, CA and Karen Trent of Appomattox; one son, Donnie Trent of Los Angeles, CA; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Joel Wallschlaeger officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
While in West Virginia, Mrs. Trent was under the care of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and received excellent care. The family would like those wishing to make memorial contributions to please consider a Hospice agency serving the Lynchburg area.
