Betty Jean Robinson

Betty Jean Robinson, 84, of Lynchburg went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab.

Born on March 2, 1936 in Ashland, KY, she was the daughter of the late Grover William Robinson and the late Ruby Sligh Witt. Betty was a former employee of Sheltered Workshop. She enjoyed going out for coffee and seeing her friends, as well as movies and singing to her favorite music.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Clarence Eldridge Witt; brother, Clarence “Sonny” Witt, Jr.; sister, Joanne Martin; and a special aunt, Frances Staton.

Betty is survived by her sister, Alice Arrington; sister-in-law, Brenda Witt; special caregiver, Evelyn Distelhurst and family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Centra Health and Centra Hospice for their care and compassion during Betty’s illness.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 9 to 5 at the funeral home.

I had the pleasure of knowing Betty Jean when she lived at CVTC. She was so lively and sweet and so helpful with the other individuals there. She was a favorite among the staff and we loved her.

Betty Jean Robinson was a special person she loved everyone. She loved coffee and she loved Gene Autry it was a joy to take care of Betty. I was priveleged to have a chance to be one of her caretakers. She was alot of fun to be around. I will cherish the memories forever.

Betty was a beautiful Lady! She loved Jesus so much. She was always so happy to receive Jesus in The Eucharist whenever I or anyone else brought it to her. She is home now with Jesus and I thank Him for the gift of her life!
