Brenda was born, October 4, 1951 in Halifax County, VA to Bernice Ashworth Williams and the late Andrew Jackson Williams. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Camryn Chase Elliott.
Brenda retired from Verizon in 2013, where she was a service consultant. She made many friends throughout her time here and was known as “Mucka” to everyone. She was a fun loving person and never met a stranger. She overcame many difficult challenges, throughout her life. Brenda was fiercely independent and instilled that in her girls and grandchildren. She would do anything for her girls and absolutely adored her grandchildren. One of her passions was cooking and preparing meals for her family.
Brenda is survived by her girls, Michelle L. Simmons and Shannon N. Litchford and husband Brian, all of Lynchburg; three sisters, Betty Dolen of Richmond, Patricia Whitlow of Nathalie, and Robin Hylton (Terry) of South Boston. She was known as “Mucka” to her eleven grandchildren, Tye Saunders, Brynna, Brylee, and Jaxon Elliott; Alex, Madisen, Leyton, Caleb, Carter and Luke Chapman; two step-grandchildren, Austin and Cayden Litchford; two great-grandchildren, Chayse Saunders and Oliver Chapman and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6- 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at 127 Oakland Circle, Lynchburg, VA, 24502..
Her funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor David Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
