Brian was born in Chicago, IL to the late Harold Walter Lacey and Ruth Knautz Lacey on July 23, 1944.
Brian met and married his wife, Lynda 55 years ago in Chicago before relocating to the Atlanta, GA area and finally to Lynchburg, VA to be near their two sons.
Brian was proud to serve his country in the US Navy as a mechanic working on military aircraft during the Vietnam conflict. He was retired from Probilt in Wedowee, AL after 30 years of employment as the Manufacturing Supervisor. His desire to help people led him to his position as Director of Gospel Light Boys Ranch, a ministry for at-risk youth. He loved and served his Lord and Savior throughout his life, lending his time and talents to several churches and various ministries. Most recently he attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. Brian had a special talent for building and woodworking. He put those skills to use as a custom home builder in the West Georgia area after his retirement. Brian spent many happy years with family and friends enjoying his various lake homes, boating, and riding motorcycles. He was passionate about spending time with his family and especially his five grandchildren.
Brian is survived by his wife, Lynda; his two sons, Brian Brandon Lacey (Monica) and Justin Ryan Lacey (Lindsay) of Forest, VA; brother, Alan Leroy Lacey (Linda) of Maple Park, IL; sister, Anne Elizabeth Taylor of Cumming, GA; and his five grandchildren; Addison, Myles, Lucy, Molly, and Penny.
