
Bruce Elbert Carter, 74, of Rustburg passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia Evans Carter. Born October 20, 1942, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Harry Carter and the late Nannie McCullough Carter.
Bruce was a retired forklift operator for RR Donnelley and a member of Amazing Grace Ministries.
In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by four children, Alan Carter of Rustburg, James “Jay” Carter and his wife Dorothy of Lynchburg, Teresa Carter of Lynchburg and Hannah Carter of Rustburg; one sister, Mary Lois Kessler and her husband Kenneth of Lynchburg; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Evans officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Amazing Grace Ministries.
