Carey Lynch Arthur, 91, of Spout Spring passed away Tuesday, January 09, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Mae Field Arthur.

Born in Coleman Falls, September 16, 1926, he was the son of the late Lewis Conway Arthur and Nellie Gray Mitchell Arthur. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during WWII on CV 13 USS Franklin aircraft carrier and was retired from General Electric after 30 years of service.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Feagans and two brothers, Gordon Arthur and Lewis “Ben” Arthur.

He is survived by one son, Stephen Arthur and his wife Barbara of Spout Spring and one sister, Betty Jones and her husband David of Courtland; one sister-in-law, Caroline Arthur of Coleman Falls and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
