Carroll and Doris Thompson

Carroll and Doris Thompson both passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital following unrelated illnesses. Carroll was born in Lynchburg, February 6, 1948 a son of the late Claude James Thompson and Vernie Fitzgerald Thompson. He was the owner and operator of Thompson’s Truck Service. Doris was born in Lynchburg, September 12, 1944 a daughter of the late Lloyd Guy Irvan and Edith Reynolds Irvan. Survivors include, Roberta Katherine Wright and husband Dwight; son, Lloyd Brunson Lawrence; three brothers, Ernest Layne Irvan, Lloyd Winston Irvan and Donald Ray Irvan and one sister, Brenda Irvan Reynolds; Granddaughter, Rebecca Jo Kahle and two great grandchildren, Sunnie Jo Kahle and Spencer Riley Dodd-Kahle. A service celebrating their lives will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Dr. Robert Phillips II officiating. Interment will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
