

Born on July 3, 1957 he was the son of the late Thomas R. Simonton and Glenda E. Simonton. He was born in Montgomery, WVA and moved to Lynchburg when he was 18 where he spent the rest of his life with his brothers Robert L. Simonton, Sr., Thomas E. Simonton, Clyde E. Simonton, Douglas J. Simonton, and sister Deanna R. Horney.
He is survived by his brother Stephen W. Simonton of Roanoke, VA. nephew Robert D. Simonton (Tammy); children Allison Simonton and Cory Stinnett; nephew Robert L Simonton, Jr. (Karen); and children Katherine and Leighton Simonton, Lisa Revis and daughter Madison Revis; niece Karen Simonton and child Trey; nephew David Simonton and family; niece Tammy Simonton; nephew Tommy Simonton and family; and cousins Freda Bloom and Kim Ramsey (Tony) and family.
Cary attended Ansted High School in WVA and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge 1727. He was a lifetime welder. Cary was known for his sense of humor, love of sports and love for his family and friends. He loved his dogs and horse. Cary enjoyed many friendships throughout his life. He had many childhood friends including John Bragg and family, Angie Bragg and family, Jimmy Bragg and family, and James (Blackie) Vandall and family.

There will be a memorial Celebration of Life service on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel officiated by Pastor David Turner.
