Cathy Allen Cyrus

Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Eaton Allen and the late Frances Goodman Allen.

Cathy was a faithful member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church. She loved watching wildlife and taking long rides in the mountains.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jamie Irby and his wife, April and Jason Irby and his wife, Cindy; step children, David Cyrus, Jr., Michael Cyrus and Brittany Cyrus, all of Rustburg; a sister, Brenda Shelton and her husband, Dana, of Gretna; father-in-law, Thomas Cyrus and his wife, Mildred, of Appomattox; Lloyd T. Mawyer, Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Richmond; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Whitten Timberklake Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
