He was born in Lynchburg on December 24, 1950, son of the late Cecil R. Brooks, Sr. and the late Barbara F. Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah H. Brooks and a brother, Freddie A. Brooks.
He had served his country in the United States Navy and was retired after 41 years from Greif Brothers Corporation. Cecil was an avid woodworker and gardener who truly loved the outdoors.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Wanda B. McGee and her husband David and a brother Donnie W. Brooks and his wife Martha. He is also survived by two nephews, Donnie Brooks and Justin Brooks.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Madison Heights Community Center, 424 Woodys Lake Road, Madison Heights, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
