Born July 31, 1924 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Eugene and Beulah Coleman Boggs. Charles was also preceded in death by his aunt, Bernice Honeycut.
Charles was a dedicated employee at Guggenheimer's Department Store from 1949 -1969. In 1969 he entered into a career with Griffin Pipe, where he committed himself for the next 20 years until his retirement in 1989.
At Faith Baptist Church, Charles understood the Truth of God's Word, that sins separates all men for God. He recognized his own need of God's forgiveness that is available only through the death, burial, and Resurrection of jesus Christ. Charles knew that no man can earn God's love or His forgiveness. By faith, Charles accepted God's free gift of love, forgiveness, acceptance as his only access to Heaven.
After his retirement, Charles joined Heritage Baptist Church. He was committed to the study of the Bible, God's written Word. Charles lived very frugally and choose to invest his material resources helping others hear of the Truth, Hope, and Forgiveness found only in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Charles was blessed by the loving care he received from Ted & Elizabeth Smith; Tom, Karla, Sarah, & Kaitlyn Fesmire; and Jim Skinner, who all became his adopted family.
Thank you to the staff of Runk &Prat Residential Care for their assistance during the last years o Charles life.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Zane Abbott officiating.
