

died Friday, January 20, 2012, at his residence.
He is the husband of Janice Phelps Minor.
Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late
William Jesse Minor and the late Annie Pettit
Minor. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia
Burton Minor and two brothers, Willie Minor
and Jimmy Minor.
Charlie was a retired machinist from Reynolds
Metals in Richmond and a member of Faith
Baptist Church in Madison Heights. He served
his country in the U.S. Army. He loved his
family and enjoyed wood working and riding
his “trike” with his friends.
In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived
by three sons, Charles E. Minor, Jr. and his
wife, Terry, and Jeff W. Minor, all of Richmond
and William V. Minor and his wife, Becky, of
Durham, N.C.; two step children,
Rhonda Burgess and her husband, Eddie,
of Lynchburg and Larry Eubank and
his wife, Anna, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL;
a brother, Bobby Minor and his wife, Mary,
of Richmond; a number of grandchildren
and great grandchildren and a special
friend, Jenny Hunter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m.,
Monday, January 23, 2012, at
Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will
follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.,
today, January 22, 2012, at Whitten
Timberlake Chapel.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers,
contributions be made to Faith Baptist
Church, 3768 S. Amherst Highway,
Madison Heights, VA 24572.
