Born in Bedford on February 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Charlie C. Wilson and Elizabeth Goodman Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hillsman Wilson; one son, Ronald Wilson; and one daughter, Donna Rawlings, and his son-in-law, Darrell Rawlings.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Perry (Kenneth); his son, Barry Wilson (Lynette); six grandchildren, Kenneth Perry II (Kristen), Candice Perry, Courtney Perry, Megan Brodie (Scottie), Noel Rawlings, and Gregory Harris; and three great-grandchildren, Keira Perry, Kallen Perry, and Leon Perry. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Donna J. Wilson
Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service, he became the owner and operator of Ed Wilson’s Garage, where he worked tirelessly for over 57 years. He was known for his strong work ethic and passion for his profession. In addition to his love for work, Ed also had a deep affection for the many dogs he kept over the years at the garage, finding joy and companionship in their presence.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Mack Almond officiating. Interment will follow at Leffler Community Cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
