Charlotte Hamilton Adkins, 74, of Forest passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She was the wife of the late Bill Guyal Adkins.
Born March 15, 1938 in Roanoke, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Divers and Stella Mildred Ragland Hamilton. Charlotte and her husband, Bill were partners, and operators of Lendys and Kentucky Fried Chicken here in Lynchburg for many years.
Charlotte was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to work on crafts, and when she was younger she enjoyed painting. She enjoyed reading and loved growing flowers of every color.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by a daughter, Diane A. Winks and her husband, Randy of Forest; sister, Cecelia Dietrick of Flowood, Miss; and her grandson, Joshua Winks.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Whitten Timberlake Chapel by Rev. Jim Whitaker.
