Christopher David Doss, 34, was called home on March 17th, 2022 to our beloved Jesus Christ and was welcomed with open arms by his father Glen Eckel, grandfathers James Cash and Johnnie Grubbs and his grandmother, Joyce Grubbs.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Sherri Cash; step-mother Dawn Tucker (Larry); grandmother Charlotte Catron; uncles Jimmy Cash (Kristy), William Hughes (Michelle); loving aunt Angela Baker (J.D); His protector and only brother, Everett Lane; three loving and overprotective sisters: Nicole Eckel (Gabe); Joyce Eckel (Jo-Jo); Jennifer Reeves (Mike); three nieces and five nephews which Chris adored and loved unconditionally. He shared a bond with many of his cousins which was special and meant so much to each of them.
Chris has an abundance of friends that will cherish his memory and one saying we all will hold onto from Chris is, ”I’m Fine”. Chris shared his love and radiance with everyone he met. He never met a stranger and would give you his shirt off his back. Chris was loved by all that knew him.
He was a hard worker and was employed at M&W Concrete. He also watched his nephews and nieces and took so much pride in doing that because he loved them so dearly. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and looked forward to football season every year. In his spare time, he enjoyed family, friends, video games and just life in general. Chris was going to be a first time father to a beautiful baby girl in June with Stephanie Glover. He was so proud of becoming a father and so excited.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the doctors and staff at Lynchburg General Hospital and the MICU for the support and love that they showed. They went above and beyond for his care daily and to make sure that his family was taken care of as well. Chris was an organ donor and was able to give the gift of life to others.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Chris’s name are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
A private celebration of life will be held on May 28, 2022.
