Born on March 13, 1939, in Asheville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. McIntosh and Edith Guthrie McIntosh. Cora was also preceded in death by her son, David Reynolds, and her brother, Bill McIntosh.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Austin of Lynchburg; two sons, Charlie Reynolds of Gladys and Brian Reynolds of Amherst; five grandchildren, Cynthia A. Reynolds, Michelle Burkhart, Anthony Reynolds, Larry Smith, and Brian Reynolds, Jr.; one brother, Glenn D. McIntosh of Asheville, NC; three sisters, Doris Ann Smith of Asheville, NC, Irene Pickeral of Lynchburg, and Mary Dean Watson of Newport News; and four great-grandchildren.
Cora retired from Mrs. Giles Kitchen and was a longtime and active member of Jordan Baptist Church. She served in various roles, including choir member, Sunday School teacher, and helper in the kitchen and nursery. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed sitting on her porch, watching the world go by. Additionally, she had a passion for working on crossword puzzles. Cora was known for her smile that could brighten any room she entered. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, cherished by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Jordan Baptist Church with The Rev. Carlton Dunn, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
