

Daniel Conway Long, 61, of Lynchburg, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Wanda Reynolds Long for forty-years.
Born July 29, 1949 in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Harold Daniel and Margaret Brinegar Long Stanley. Mr. Long was a machinist with B&W with more than thirty years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jason D. Long and wife, Christina; one daughter, Nicole R. Long, both of Lynchburg; three sisters, Cynthia Scott and husband, Marvin of Birmingham, AL, Rita Ragland and husband, Barry of Rustburg, and Sue George and husband, Tommy of Lynchburg; three brothers, Rodney Long and wife, Valerie of Asheville, NC, Bryan Long of Rocky Mount, VA, and Loren Long and wife, Jane of Franklin, NC; two grandchildren, Laurel Stephenson and Shannon Stephenson; his mother-in-law, Louise Reynolds of Altavista and his step-father, Pat Stanley of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
