Darnelle Tomlin Bryant

Darnelle Tomlin Bryant, 76, of Rustburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born in Lynchburg on December 28, 1946, daughter of the late Scott and Mary Tomlin. Darnelle was retired from TJ Maxx. She was a huge Elvis fan, loved shopping for deals and was the original bargain hunter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard W. Bryant; a son, Wayne Bryant; three brothers, Howard Tomlin, Anderson “Kap” Tomlin, and Elwood Tomlin; four sisters, Lena Banton, Lucy Bryant, Thelma Watts, and Martha Exum. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Curtis W. Bryant (Jennifer); a brother, Bernard Tomlin (Patsy); five grandchildren, Samantha Bryant (Bobby), Sarah Bryant, Kayla Barbour (Jeff), Chase Bryant, and Mackenzie Bryant. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved furbabies, Tobie and China Lee. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society.
