Born on October 24, 1955 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Gables and Dorothy Frazier Gables.
Debbie was retired from Lane Company after 19 years and from Ross Laboratories after five years of hard work. She was a member of Tree of Life Ministries.
Survivors include her children, Carlton Wesley Childress, Jr. and wife Lisa of Goode, VA and April D. Shelton of Huddleston, VA. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, a step-son, Jeremiah Drinkard, and three wonderful grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the residence of her son, 1112 Market Drive, Goode, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2022 at Virginia Memorial Park.
