
Born in Big Island on December 27, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Clinton McGuire and Alice Coleman McGuire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Everette Saunders, Jr., and her son, James Michael Saunders.
Debbie was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord deeply. God was always first in her life, and her faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout the years.
Her family was also at the center of her life. Debbie treasured the time she spent with those she loved and especially enjoyed family cookouts and gatherings. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures and could often be found enjoying a good hamburger and a cold soda surrounded by family.
During her quiet time, Debbie loved watching old John Wayne movies, which remained a favorite pastime throughout her life.
She is survived by her two sons, Steven W. Saunders and Anthony S. Saunders; two grandchildren, Kayla Saunders and Brenden Saunders; her brother, Johnny McGuire and his wife, Dawn; and a number of special nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Debbie will be remembered for her love of God, her devotion to her family, and the joy she found in simply being together with the people she loved.
