Debra Jean Wilson, 64, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Born in Lynchburg on April 4, 1960, Debra was the daughter of the late Curtis Lee Bowling and Gladys Swain Bowling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Wade "Chuck" Wilson.
She is survived by three sons, David Wade Wilson (Amber), Daniel Cole and Hunter Cole; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Brenda Darbo, Wanda Krupnick and Kathy Bowling; one brother, Randy Bowling.
Debra was raised in Lynch Station; she was a loving and devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her children. Her children always came first in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Debra's deep love for her family extended to her grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. She was always just a phone call away, ready to drop everything to be there for them in times of need.
Debra loved going on outings and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. In her final days, she found joy in spending time outdoors with her grandchildren, basking in the warmth of the sun. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help those in need.
Debra's legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Dr. Robert Putt officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 p.m.
