Dennis Wayne Saville went home to be with his Savior Saturday, July 29, 2017. He is survived by his loving, compassionate wife of 38 years, Cheryl and their sons and their families, Jesse and Leyna, Mitch and Melissa, and Philip and Ronisha, as well as 5 ½ grandchildren.
Dennis had a kind heart that touched his family up to the very end. He always thought of others and was such a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed and leaves a large void that will be impossible to ignore. The family finds great joy knowing he is at peace and pain free in the arms of Jesus.
He was very smart, very handy, and passed his knowledge to his three sons. His passions included his family, woodworking, trains, and cars. He always said if he had the right tool, he could do any job. He mastered many skillsets.
His spirit left his body peacefully at home in his sleep. His last days were spent surrounded by family. His children talked with him and prayed with him. One of the last things he told them was to smile. In typical Dennis fashion, he thought of others over himself. He was able to spend his last day listening to the laughter of his youngest 3 grandsons while they played.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Thomas Road Baptist Church Pate Chapel, 1 Mountain View Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502, with Pastor Matt Wilmington officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider memorial contributions to the International Missions Board at www.imb.org or to God’s Pit Crew at www.godspitcrew.org.
