Derek Simmonds Cantrell

Derek Simmonds Cantrell of Lynchburg, VA, was born on January 5, 1985 in Phoenix, AZ, and peacefully passed away in his sleep on June 14, 2020, in Lynchburg. His natural artistic talent complemented his passion for the arts. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Eileen Cantrell of Beaufort, SC; his sister, Chelsea Cantrell of Lynchburg, VA; grandmothers Hazel M. Fysh of Phoenix, AZ and Marilyn Garten of Ellicott City, MD, as well as a number of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins both in the U.S. and England. He was loved unconditionally and will be in our hearts forever. In honor of Derek’s 35 years, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Private services.
