Donald Ray Campbell

Donald Ray Campbell, 72, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, January 05, 2015, at his residence. He was the husband of Merry Padgett Campbell. Born April 27, 1942, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Garnett Elwood Campbell, Sr. and the late Evelyn Ogden Campbell.

Donald was a retired, self-employed paint contractor. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather and uncle.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Royer and Mary Louise Campbell Brooks.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by three children, Tanya Rae Campbell of Madison Heights, Jason Scott Campbell and his wife Jenny of Lynchburg and Angela Dilbeck and her husband David of Lynchburg; two siblings, Garnett Elwood (Woody) Campbell, Jr. and his wife Eva Keller Campbell of Madison Heights and Elsie Ann Barrett and her husband Oscar Ramsey Barrett of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Shawn Campbell, Abigail Christine Dilbeck and Leah Ann Dilbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Ray Triplett officiating.
