Doris Kirby

Born July 21, 1934, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late, William Anderson Shepherd and Helen Henson Shepherd Cox. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.

Survivors also include six children, John Kirby Jr. and wife Sandra, of Madison Heights, Dianne Mayberry and husband Robert, of Altavista, Carl Kirby and wife Diana, of Gladys, William Preston Kirby , of Rustburg, Robbie Lee Kirby Sr., of Forest, and Michael Troy Kirby, of Forest, 11 loving grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, and at other times at the residence of Mr. Kirby.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
