Dorothy Dale

Dorothy Lee Stinnette Dale, 78, of Lynchburg, died, Monday, December 26, 2011, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ernest Ray Dale. Born June 22, 1933, in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Stinnette and the late Hattie Lee Camden Stinnette.

Mrs. Dale was a retired assembler for Lynchburg Shelter Workshop.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dale is preceded in death by six brothers, Jack Stinnette, Earl Stinnette, Johnny Stinnette, Terrell Stinnette, Herman Stinnette and Bennie Stinnette; and one great-grandson, Christopher Dale, Jr.

Mrs. Dale is survived by six children, Pauline Carrico and her husband John of Saltville, Deborah Dale of Lynchburg, Mary Harris of Lynchburg, Rebecca DeLoach and her husband Leonard of Oxford, MS, Jerry Dale of Lynchburg and Steve Dale of Lynchburg; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
