Obituary of Dorothy Mayberry Williams
Dorothy Mayberry Chewning Williams, 89, died Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was born November 5, 1929, to Otis Basil and Lena Godsey Mayberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jesse C. Chewning, Sr., and her second husband, Neal E. Williams. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy J. Chewning, Sr., a grandson, Christopher Michael Chewning, and five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Jesse Chewning (Dale) and Richard Chewning (Susan), a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Crickenberger (Ray) and two stepsons, John Williams (Joy) and Bobby Williams (Debbie). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Helen Adamson and Margaret Lane, and a host of nieces and nephews. Dot was a member of Keystone Baptist Church, and she retired from General Electric after more than 30 years of service. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Timberlake Road at 11:00 with the Rev. Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00. Memorial contributions can be made to Keystone Baptist Church.
