

Born November 25, 1953 Douglas was a rock and roll and R&B aficionado, living life to its fullest. His heart beat to the rhythm of old-school melodies, and his love for live concerts was infectious. An expert in trivia and a modern-day Google, his wisdom was unmatched. Fishing brought him peace, and his grandkids brought him immeasurable happiness. As a dedicated Hill City cab driver, he shared stories of the city he loved. His beloved cat, Heckleman, was his constant companion. Douglas lived his life passionately, marked by music, family, and cherished moments.
In addition to his parents Douglas was preceded in death by his brother Steven B. Heckerman and his sister Beverly A. Thomas
Those left to cherish Douglas’ memory include his daughter Ashley Nichols and her husband Darryl, his son Kelly Heckerman; sister Jeannie Thompson and her husband Malcolm; his niece Samantha Thomas and her spouse Bev Mowdy; his nephew Brandon Thomas and his wife Michelle; his grandchildren Liam, Layla Beth and Mason; his Brother-in-Law Larry Thomas; along with countless other friends and family.
