

Born June 2, 1947, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Agatha (Gay) Ewers Harris of Rustburg and the late Freddie Lee Harris, Jr.
Earl was a graduate of Rustburg High School, proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from C&P telephone Co. after 35 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish and was a skilled carpenter.
in addition to his mother, Earl is survived by a son, Christopher Lynwood Harris; daughter Sarah Lynn Grigg; two brothers, Norvel Clay Harris and Robert Lee Harris and his wife Rhonda; one sister, Helen Dare Harrison and her husband Cary; four step children, Billy, Amber, Michael, and Kristina and his father and mother-in-law, Howard and Ruth Dillon.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 36.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
