

Born in Mullica Hill, NJ, August 20, 1936, he was a son of the late Harold Samuel Ivins and Freda Alexander Ivins. He was retired from DuPont Chemical Co. after 38 years of service and proudly served his country in the US Navy. Ed was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and was a 1987 graduate of the Liberty Home Bible Institute. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be remembered as a kind gentleman and a great example of Faithfulness, Loyalty and Dedication.
One brother, Harold S. Ivins, Jr., of Elmer, NJ preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his daughter, Debbie Ivins Miller and her husband Bob and his son, Eddie Ivins, Jr. and his wife Julie all of Lynchburg; one brother, Larry Ivins and his wife Dot of Sewell, NJ; seven grandchildren, Andrea Webb and her husband Brandon, Alyssa Pantana and her husband Jason, Amanda Pate and her husband Kenny, Alydia Bryant and her husband Mitchell, Edward Frank “Trey” Ivins, III, Joshua Paul Ivins and Matthew Thomas Ivins and four great grandchildren, Bentley Webb, Arrington Webb, Sammy Pate and Aria Pate.
A service celebrating Ed’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
