She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Blankenship Brown; three brothers, Pokey Hobbs, Earle Hobbs, Sr. and Joe Hobbs; a grand-daughter, Jamie Marie Blankenship and by her little furry baby Peaches
Born in Bedford on December 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Charles Garfield Hobbs and Ruth Burks Hobbs. Elizabeth was retired from Verizon Telephone Company and a member of Parkview United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Lancaster and husband Jack; a son, Paul Blankenship, Jr. and wife Barbara; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with a service to follow starting at 11:00 in the Chapel with the Pastor Phil Showers officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Family would like to thank Centra Hospice for all the love and care they showed Elizabeth during her time of illness. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Tonya, Sue, Patric, Alley, Amanda, and Tiffany for their love and support over the past three years.
