Elizabeth E. Maddox

Born April 9, 1918 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Johhny Burr and Virginia Catherine “Kadie” Doss East and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Carl, Edward, Winfred, Raymond, and Herbert East; a great-grandson, Shannon Poore and a son-in-law, Martie Poore. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Mrs. Maddox is survived by her daughter, Connie Poore of Lynchburg; two sisters, Mary Clark of Jacksonville, FL and Vernell Williams of Altavista; two grandchildren, Dennis Poore and wife Brenda and Phillip Poore and wife Jennifer, all of Lynchburg; three great-grandchildren, Sylina Gibson and husband Chris, Matthew Patton (Ashley), and Amanda Poore and four great-great-grandchildren, Rheannyn, McKenzie, Victoria, and Kayleigh.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at Altavista Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Moore officiating.
