

Elmer Clyde Jordan, 85, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015. He was the husband of the late Mary Johnson Jordan. Born October 6, 1930, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Samuel Lee Jordan and the late Eva Irene Mayberry Jordan.
Elmer was a retired parts manager for Terry Volkswagen-Subaru and a member of Tree of Life Ministries. He also served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Carl Jordan; eleven brothers and sisters, William “Bill” Jordan, Guy Jordan, Jack Jordan, Perry Jordan, Buddy Jordan, Marion Smith, Lucille Mitchell, Inez Cox, Margaret Caldwell, Gracie Kersey and Verna May Jordan.
Elmer is survived by his daughter, Hazel Stephens and her husband Craig of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Nikki Humphries and her husband Denny, Jacob Stephens and his wife April and Justin Stephens and his fiancée Jessie; four great grandchildren, Ethan Fowler, Will Humphries, Tyler Humphries and Stormi Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Tom Bryant and the Rev. Al Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park, where Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends, 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
