

Born in Lynchburg, July 25, 1922, Elsie was a daughter of the late Collie Mark Dawson and Willie Wooldridge Dawson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Dawson, Herman Dawson and Claude Dawson and one sister, Thelma Dawson Powell.
She is survived by three sons, Donald S. Paris and his wife Marjorie, Bryan N. Paris and his wife Wanda and Randal W. Paris and his wife Roxann; one sister, Dorothy D. Brooks; five grandchildren, Donald Paris, Jr., and his friend Nujarin Khamchai, Jon P. Paris and wife Marika, Brandon N. Paris and wife Jennifer, Brittany Paris and Randy Wade, one step granddaughter, Tonya Bradner and husband Scott and six great grandchildren, Tyler, Madeline and Rachel Paris, Bennett Paris, Lila Wade and Gavin Bradner.
Mrs. Paris was a wonderful home-maker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. She had worked part-time on a seasonal basis for Leggett’s Department Store, Best Products and W.T. Grant. She also served as a volunteer at Virginia Baptist Hospital but she was predominately a stay at home wife and mother.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Liberty Cemetery in Appomattox with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Odd Fellows Home for the loving care given our mother during the last fifteen months. A special thanks also goes out to the staff of Centra Hospice for their assistance in caring for our mother in the final weeks of her life.
