Ernestine DeJarnette Hanna, 90, of Lynchburg, passed away, Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the Runk and Pratt Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Mancil Richard Hanna. Born April 20, 1923, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Evan Everette DeJarnette and the late Dora Sowell DeJarnette.
Ernestine was a retired beautician for Grace and Teeny’s Beauty Shop and she was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Ernestine is survived by her son, Rick Hanna and his wife Vickie of Rustburg; four grandchildren; Zackery Hanna, Rickie Hanna Deveney, Cody Hanna and Chris Ooten; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11 am, Monday, October 7, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
