Ethel Burks Perrow

She was born August 15, 1932, to the late Roland P. Burks and Melisa Nuckles Burks.

Mother had four children, whom she loved with all her heart; one son, Richard A. Perrow Jr, (Janet); three daughters, Diane P Nickerson (Arthur), Melisa May Edwards and Kathy Wood; seven grandchildren, Cindy Trent (Marvis), Brian Perrow (Angie), Shawn Palmer (Tonya), Heather Nickerson, who helped her mother take care of her grandma, Nathan Nickerson (Jessica), Melissa Lordhal and AJ Lordhal; six great grandchildren, Cody Owen (Loren), Kellie Utz (Josh), Brent Perrow, Abigail Perrow, Madyson Palmer and Chyna Nickerson; five step-great grandchildren, Hailee Crowe, Isaiah Hernandez, Mia Hernandez, Taylor Gunter, McKenzie Gunter; two great-great grandchildren, Talon Owen and RaeLynn Owen; a very special nephew who she thought of as a son, Ken Burks and Her other Nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Richard Alvin Perrow Sr.; two brothers, James P. Burks and Harvey Burks (Shirley), one sister Marjorie B. Mitchell and her son-in-law Philip (Red) Wood.

Honoring mother’s wishes there will not be any viewings.

A memorial service celebrating her life and faith will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Living Waters Ministry on Waterlick Rd., with Pastor Mack Almond and the Rev. J. Monty Fox officiating.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org, the Blue Ridge Food Bank, she never liked to see anyone go hungry, the special Olympics or any charity of your choice.
