Evelyn H. Cole

Evelyn Horton Cole went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2013. She was born on July 3, 1924 and is the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie Horton of Newfield, NY. She is survived by her son, Donald N. Cole (Bev) of Lynchburg, VA; her sister, Catherine Stouffer (Ronnie) of Lee Center, NY; a daughter-in-law, Linda Cole of Candor, NY; Grandsons, Kevin Cole (Svetlana) of Belgrade, Serbia; Aaron Cole of Willis, Texas and Corey Cole (Amy) of Lynchburg, VA; Granddaughters, Maria Cole (Oscar) of Candor, NY, Amy Cole of Brooklyn, NY and Elise Cole of Lynchburg, VA. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, C. Norman Cole in 1969, her son Thomas in 2003, her sister Blanche Farkas in 2003 and two brothers, Raymond and Roland Horton.

Evelyn retired in 1989 after working as an office supervisor at JC Penney, Ithaca, NY for 38 years. Evelyn had a green thumb and always maintained an amazing flower garden. She also was an avid hiker and loved long country walks.

A private graveside service will be held in West Danby, NY this summer.
