Born on December 27, 1935 in Prince Edward Counthy, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Elsie Cumby.
Frances retired from Lynchburg City Schools as a cafeteria manager with 35 years of service. She truly enjoyed working in the cafeteria and helping the students.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, WC Cumby and sister, Rosemary Cumby.
Frances is survived by her son, Kenneth Henson; her daughters, Cynthia Hamilton and Amy Zych (Tony); her grandson, Chris Hamilton; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
