

Frank Hubert Cofflin, Jr., 66, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, May 05, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of 18 years to Barbara Peters Cofflin. Born October 19, 1943, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Frank Hubert Cofflin, Sr. and Martha Ellen Moore Cofflin.
Mr. Cofflin was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cofflin’s favorite past-times were coaching and watching baseball and basketball, as well as playing cards and pool with his buddies. He coached over 20 years and touched the lives of many young players.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cofflin is survived by his first wife, Bonnie Cofflin of Lynchburg; three daughters, Lisa Gunter and her husband, Chris of Rustburg, Jennifer Lee and her husband, Eric of Evington and Bridget Tanner and her husband Kenneth of Monroe, LA; one son, David Creasy and his wife, Stacy of Madison Heights; and five grandchildren, Nathan Gunter, Adam Lee, Alaina Lee, Danielle Camire and Heather Camire. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with the Rev. David Peters and Rev. Charles Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel and at other times at the residence or the residence of Lisa Gunter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miller Park Little League, Rustburg Dixie Youth Baseball or American Heart Association.
