Freddie Lee Harris Jr.

Born in Campbell County, May 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Freddie Lee Harris and Nannie Reid Harris. Freddie proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. For a number of years he worked for both Royal Crown Bottling Co. and Campbell County schools and was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Helen Dare H. Harrison and husband Phil of Dallas, TX; three sons, Earl Linwood Harris of Appomattox, Robert Lee Harris and wife Rhonda and Norvel Clay Harris all of Rustburg; a special nephew, Bill Layne and his wife Mary and special cousin, Bobby Layne, Jr. and his wife Mary all of Rustburg; three grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Keydron Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 16.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
